After autopsies and investigation the verdict was out: The Dyatlov Group had all died because of a “Compelling Natural Force”. The official inquest was closed in May of 1959 and the investigative files were sent to the Russian Secret Archives.

Ultimately, the demise of the Dyatlov Group will potentially be forever unexplained. In the final part of our “Dyatlov Deep Dive” we discuss the prevailing theories at the time as well as what Author Donnie Eichar believes after he traveled to the site of the of the mystery himself.

After discovering the trashed campsite, searchers uncover the remaining hikers bodies. After a botched initial investigation, further examinations of the bodies was conducted.

The way in which the hikers died is peculiar. There seems to be no clear answer aside from hypothermia to explain how the hikers received their varying degree of injury. All we know for certain is that they fled from their campsite in a hurry, but its what we don’t know that makes this story so interesting…

The Dyatlov Pass Incident (Part I 1)

January 25 1959

Igor Dyatlov, a member of the Ural Polytechnical Institute’s hiking and trekking program, assembled a group of 8 other experiences hikers / students to join him on a hike into the harsh Siberian Wilderness. By completing their dangerous route they would become “Grade 3 hikers” and achieve the next level of certification in their program. They left the campus with high hopes and a youthful exuberance feeling confident about their trek up the nearby mountain, Kholat Syakhl. Little did they know this would be the last time anyone would see them alive.

Dyatlov was to send a telegram back the UPI Sports Club as soon as they returned to the nearby town of Vizhai after completing their trip. This telegram never arrived.

The mysteries of what happened to the Dyatlov group range from UFO’s and Government cover-ups to infighting and murder, but what we do know for sure is that something terrible happened on Kholat Syakl, or what the native people call…

In response to concerns over China, The Soviet Union, and North Korea developing mind control devices to brainwash US troops, Allen Dulles, director of the CIA, approved project “MK-Ultra”. MK-Ultra consisted of experiments performed on the general populous to see the effects of hallucinogenic drugs for the purpose of mind control.

As if government cold war shenanigans couldn’t get any worse, in 1960 a tunnel system was built deep beneath the glaciers in Greenland. This research facility was reportedly used to help scientists understand the development of germs in frozen conditions. A plot to overthrow King Henry VIII was thwarted and an individual, Edmund Dudley, was beheaded for his treasonous crimes. Before his beheading, a curse was placed on the Dudley lineage, a curse which stated that all of the Dudley descendants would be surrounded by horror and death.

Fast forward to 1747. Three descendants of Edmund Dudley, Abiel, Barzallai and Gideon, purchased a plot of land in the Cornwall township of Conneticut and created “Dudleytown”.

György Thurzó, a powerful Hungarian Palatine, is sent by decree of King Matthias II, the King of Hungary, to investigate macabre rumors circling the castle of Csejte in modern day Slovakia. Thurzo gathers testimony from hundreds of local townspeople and is appalled at the tale he is told.

Local girls of the poor and working class are being abducted by the local Baroness, Elizabeth Bathory, and are never seen again. As legend has it, Thurzo then gathers soldiers and barges into the Baroness’ chambers and is met with a horrific sight: Elizabeth Bathory is waiting for them…

In the African jungle a man falls ill to malaria. Soon, the disease overcomes the man and he dies leaving behind a vast fortune and a horrific past. The man in question was heir to the Irish Whiskey Barons themselves, the Jameson’s.

James Jameson was a black sheep in the family. He had no interest in the whiskey business and would instead spend his time painting and appreciating the worlds natural beauty. In addition to the arts, it turns out James had a great interest in the macabre.

In January of 1885, James boarded an expedition to Africa to search for Emin Pasha, the Governor of Equatoria in Southern Sudan. While many boarded the boat with hopes of finding Emin, James instead was interested in a specific cultural taboo of the local African tribes…

Season 1 Episode 12 : The Yuba County 5

THE YUBA COUNTY FIVE

February 24, 1978

Five friends drove 50 miles from their homes in Yuba City California to cheer for the UC Davis basketball team as they played Chico State University in Chico California. After attending the game, the group were seen around 10:00 PM at a nearby corner store getting candy and soda. This would be the last time any of them were seen alive.

The authorities would soon be called the next morning after the men failed to return to their respective homes. The authorities found the men’s car by the side of the road unlocked, empty, with only candy wrappers left in the vehicle.
