In response to concerns over China, The Soviet Union, and North Korea developing mind control devices to brainwash US troops, Allen Dulles, director of the CIA, approved project “MK-Ultra”. MK-Ultra consisted of experiments performed on the general populous to see the effects of hallucinogenic drugs for the purpose of mind control.
As if government cold war shenanigans couldn’t get any worse, in 1960 a tunnel system was built deep beneath the glaciers in Greenland. This research facility was reportedly used to help scientists understand the development of germs in frozen conditions.
