THE YUBA COUNTY FIVE

Five friends drove 50 miles from their homes in Yuba City California to cheer for the UC Davis basketball team as they played Chico State University in Chico California. After attending the game, the group were seen around 10:00 PM at a nearby corner store getting candy and soda. This would be the last time any of them were seen alive.
The authorities would soon be called the next morning after the men failed to return to their respective homes. The authorities found the men’s car by the side of the road unlocked, empty, with only candy wrappers left in the vehicle.
While this in itself was unusual, what was even stranger was its location. The car was 70 miles from the town of Chico in an abandoned, remote part of the Plumas National Forest. How did the car get there? Where were the bodies? What happened to…
