A plot to overthrow King Henry VIII was thwarted and an individual, Edmund Dudley, was beheaded for his treasonous crimes. Before his beheading, a curse was placed on the Dudley lineage, a curse which stated that all of the Dudley descendants would be surrounded by horror and death.
Fast forward to 1747. Three descendants of Edmund Dudley, Abiel, Barzallai and Gideon, purchased a plot of land in the Cornwall township of Conneticut and created “Dudleytown”.
