The Flatwoods Monster and Project Blue Book
September 12, 1952
At 7:15 PM in Flatwoods West Virginia, Edward May, his brother Fred, and their friend Tommy Hyer saw a bright object flash across the sky and crash at a nearby farm. The boys quickly ran to the home of Kathleen May to get help. After frantically describing their encounter, Kathleen and the boys along with three local children made their way to the site of the crash.
It was then that the group encountered something that they would never forget: Described as being ten feet tall with a glowing red spade shaped face and green glowing body, a monstrous presence floated towards the group. Horrified, the group ran from the scene and reported the incident.
