In the 1800’s, a woman by the name of Mary Ashford went out to a party with a close friend. The friends danced and enjoyed themselves and by midnight were walking home with two men they met at the raucous affair.
As the night went on Mary found herself alone with her would-be suitor Abraham Thornton. The two said their goodbyes and parted ways - at least, that is what Abraham said. Unfortunately, Mary would not return home that night and her body would be found in a ditch on Chester Road.

Fast-forward 157 years. On May 27, 1974, another woman by the name of Barbara Forrest was murdered on the very same road as Mary Ashford. At the same age…
