Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?
April 18, 1943
Just outside of Birmingham, England, four boys were running through the nearby Hagley Wood. In an effort to cure their boredom and escape the consistent bombing raids made by the Germans, the boys ran, climbed, and jumped their way through the forest enjoying each others company and appreciating the small bit of freedom the woods allotted them.
One of the boys, Bob Farmer, climbed a nearby Wych Elm in search of a birds nests that he could take home. Unfortunately for Bob, what he found was something much more sinister…
A decaying skull
